" The timeline"
Materials: acrylics, pictures, and pencils
Process: drawing out, coloring, and collaging paper for the background.
Purpose: I want to recreate a picture of my grandma in her own daily life. About my grandma, she used to be in the Vietnam army and in my eyes, she is the bravest woman on the planet. Not only for the sacrifice she had for fighting against the enemies, but also for her families. Throughout her life, she did everything in order to help her family get through the poverty after the war. Taking the inspiration from what she does in her daily life, I combine her body’s position and add the background with the real pictures of general Vietnamese women. Not only do I want people to see my grandma, but I also want people to have a wider view of Vietnamese women and what they usually do in their daily lives. As you can see in the background, there are pictures of real women that do normal things such as clean their dishes, wash their clothes and so on. Although it looks really normal for many people, for me, this is something that is really special because what they want to do for their children all start with the unconditional love from a mother. I was thrilled with those simple things of Vietnamese women.
